Wester Caputh is an old farmhouse and steading on the outskirts of the village of Caputh which lies on the River Tay, four miles east of Dunkeld (with butcher, deli, grocer, salmon smokehouse, pubs, restaurants, train station) and 10 miles north of Perth. Catherine and Adrian offer a warm and friendly welcome to an inexpensive comfortable base for groups or individuals.
The Lodge offers hostel or bunkhousestyle accommodation for up to 17 in five bunkbedrooms (2x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x6) with two showers with loos, and a separate loo. There is a large comfortable living and dining area, with wood burning stove, and a kitchen equipped for serious cooking! Outside is a paved patio and big grassy garden complete with BBQ.
Set in one of Scotland's most scenic glens, the hostel sits in the shadow of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, and the path to the summit begins opposite the hostel.
Torridon is a magnificent corner of the North Western Highlands with some of the finest mountain scenery in Europe.
The hostel is set in a fine hillwalking and cycling area. Also popular here is pony trekking. You can fish the River Cree.
