Inn Heathbank

Inn Heathbank The Heathbank Hotel on Barra was originally built as a mission house/church around the mid 1800's. About 100 years later the building was offering accommodation as a guest house. During the making of the classic film Whisky Galore, in 1948, some of the cast stayed in Heathbank. In 1974 it was opened as a hotel and Northbay enjoyed its first licensed premises since the closing of the Old Inn decades before.
